Benefits for members in the Industrial Ceramic Research
Association

Members can influence the research carried out within
certain selected R&D areas, so called Member Projects.

The
member projects for 2003–2005 will comprise the following areas:
– Dispersion and
Rheology
– Direct Consolidation and Freeform
Fabrication
– Formation of Layered Structures
– Technology Watch
-
Members have a right to non-exclusive licenses to patents
developed within the member projects. The results in the member projects are reported at
regular member meetings
(twice a year).

Members have free access
to the research carried out within the Competence Project (2003–2005), financed by
IRECO and Vinnova.

Members have free access to the
results in SCI's open projects with public funding.
-
Members get discounts (20%) on
projects/contract work and their projects have top priority.
All contract work is treated as strictly
confidential.

Members may, together
with other enterprises, start a so-called Industry
Group Project, in order to solve a common problem.

Members may participate in a R&D project with
public support funding. They may also get assistance in searching
public funding and collaborators for development projects, both nationally
and internationally (Vinnova, EU etc.).

Members get discounts (20%) on
courses, workshops etc organized by SCI.
-
Members have free access
to SCI's national and international contact net.

Members are entitled to a free
annual consultation (corresponding to half-a-day for each
share).

Members are entitled to free
regular
information about SCI's activities. Members will also get
access to
member-only web pages (currently being set up).

Members may – after agreement
in each separate case – place one of their own staff at
SCI, for training
within a specific area. Customer-tailored courses can also be
arranged.

Members may borrow office
premises and conference rooms along with available
facilities from SCI. SCI's library and
area-specific data bases are also accessible.
