The department is reorganized and an
independent research institute is formed – The Swedish
Institute for Silicate Research. |

1989 |
The Swedish Institute for Silicate Research changes its name
to The Swedish Ceramic Institute (Svenska Keraminstitutet). |

2001 |
The Swedish Ceramic Institute is reorganized and forms a
limited liability company.
The name in English remains the
same – Swedish Ceramic Institute – whereas the official
name in Swedish is changed to Svenska Keraminstitutet AB.

The activity within The Swedish Ceramic Institute is taken
over by
IVF Industrial
Research and Development Corporation.
IVF is one of the material- and manufacturing industry
institutes in the
Swerea Group. |
