Selecting our new Queen Silvia Nursing Award 2018 scholars

    December 13, 2018
    Queen Silvia Nursing Award

December is not only the month for Christmas and celebration, but also the time when we announce the 2018 scholars of the Queen Silvia Nursing Award! Throughout December, jury meetings to select our new QSNA scholars will be taking place in the four participating countries: Sweden, Finland, Poland and Germany.

Our first meeting was held at Vårdförbundet in Stockholm, Sweden, where the jury met the six 2018 finalists from Sweden. The jury for QSNA Sweden consisted of representatives from Swedish Care International, Vårdförbundet, Svensk Sjuksköterskeförening, Bonliva, Johanniterorden and Aleris. Each finalist gave an inspirational presentation of themselves and their innovative idea on how to improve the care and life of the elderly. The idea was then evaluated based on several criteria (Need, Feasibility, Creativity, Value for Elderly and General).

The six finalists from QSNA Sweden were Kristina Ulander (Luleå tekniska universitet), Sara Nyström (Linköpings universitet), Madeleine Lundin (Högskolan i Skövde), Belma Jahic (Blekinge Tekniska Högskola), Diana Abdi (Mälardalens högskola) and Malin Karhunen (Mittuniversitetet Östersund).

Say hello to the QSNA Sweden finalists of 2018!

Soon after, our QSNA Project Director Fanny Enström and Cornelia Grip, Project Coordinator for QSNA Sweden, flew to Berlin, Germany, to join the second jury meeting on December 11. The jury meeting was arranged by our QSNA main partner in Germany: St. Anna Stift. It was another encouraging day as we also welcomed six new German members to the Queen Silvia Nursing Award Alumni Network. The six finalists from Germany include Katharina Aland, Franziska Entorf, Annette Löser, Anne Sundmäker, Tatyana Bondartseva and Sara Wachs.

We want to dedicate a warm thank you to Ulrich Zerhusen from St.Anna Stift for inviting us and for arranging a successful jury meeting. It was a pleasure meeting the new German finalists, as well as the German QSNA partner group, who actively supports this award.

Welcoming the 2018 finalists of QSNA Germany!
