Sophie Lu-Axelsson has become a new CEO of Swedish Care International.
Sophie is an experienced professional with diverse experience in global corporations as well as social NGOs. She has a wide global perspective and has spent the bulk of her career working with international clients. Sophie has been leading several projects at SCI for the last 3 years. Prior to joining SCI, Sophie spent many years in adult learning, including 6 years at international education company EF Education First. Later, an interest in sustainable societies was sparked by her Masters studies and she is now dedicated to addressing global challenges. Sophie has previously focused her attention on corporate climate reporting at CDP and worker rights in global supply chains with Quizrr.
“We will all get older sooner than later, but no society is equipped to address the needs of rapidly ageing populations. I’m fascinated by the socio-political impact of this demographic change, and I am passionate about funneling my efforts into causes with critical impact,” says Sophie.
We would also like to express our gratitude to our former CEO @Petra Tegman who led SCI during the last 1,5 years. Petra Tegman brought a great deal of expertise in dementia care and was a nurturing and supportive manager for the team. Petra may still appear in our future interviews about nursing and dementia as a dementia care expert.
